I used to try to get my energy from consuming increasingly exorbitant amounts of caffeine from energy drinks. I found this to be an unsustainable source of energy. Seeing how some of the prisoners were treated was hard to grasp. The prison was equipped with a guillotine and humble claustrophobic prisoner quarters. The French influence of the prison comes from when the country was still apart of French Indochina, many Vietnamese prisoners were abused and the prison is now a memorial to their sufferings. The prison was also the famous spot where Senator John McCain was captured and held in activity during the Vietnam War. Being born and raised in America, I have learned about the Vietnam War from a distinctly American perspective, and I understand it with my own opinions and sensibilities gained from a lifetime in the USA. The American War museum is an interesting look at the other side. It is clear that the American War (obviously what the Vietnamese call the war) is something deeply ingrained into the culture of the country. I had to stop telling the story because I got a lump in my throat and tears and my eyes!! A grown man crying over his dog a decade since he died!?! Get over it right!?! Hahaha.... I owned 2 bullmastiffs named hank and bubba from the time I was 5 til I was 21 and they held as big a spot in my heart as almost anything else in the world.
